Cowpoke Book Trailer - "Kat Kong" by Dav Pilkey

One of the cowpokes in Sheriff Salsich's class, Emmett, has been learning about iMovie 11. Yesterday Sheriff Salsich and Emmett used a new feature to make a "book trailer."
Here it is:

The following PREVIEW has been approved for ALL AUDIENCES

This book trailer is about Dav Pilkey's creative, hilarious book called Kat Kong.

Dav Pilkey is a great author and illustrator. He has written lots of popular books, including the Captain Underpants series. If you like those books, you should definitely check out Kat Kong and its companion, Dogzilla.

What did you think of the book trailer?

Have you read Kat Kong or Dogzilla? If so, what did you like about them?

Can you find other "fantastic vocabulary" words in these books?

  1. Dear RR,

I think that was very silly! I liked the interesting words and the music. I have heard other great words in Dogzilla and other interesting words like relish and peril. I think Dav Pilkey uses very good words in Kat Kong and Dogzilla . You should try to read both books.

I think we should do more of those trailers since I thought that one was hilarious and that we could make more for other silly books.

  2. Congratulations to Emmet for making a cool book trailer. It makes me want to read the book. My class is working on book trailers right now. They will be posted soon on our class blog at Keep up the good work, cowpokes! From Mrs. Krebs

  3. What an amazing movie trailer. You have me hooked to check this book out from the library and read it to others. Thank you for introducing it to me with your captivating trailer. Well done!!! If you get graded on this, then you should definitely get an A+++++!

  4. Dear RR,

The booked is great I read it in class. Our teacher read us Dogzilla I like the part when at the end of Dogzilla she had puppies they were so cute. Maybe when the puppies get older they will take over for there mother. Kat Kong was a very good book too. It is like the movie but it was not named Kat Kong I forgot what it was named but Mr. Salsich told us how it was related to Kat Kong. The author of Kat Kong must of got the idea from the movie.

  6. Dear Reading Round-up Students,
I think you did a great job on your Dogzilla movie trailer.Dogzilla is a very popular book in my library.
I can't wait to show my students your movie!

It would be fun to learn how to make a movie trailer sometime. I wonder what book you will do next.
If you are looking for good words, Shrek might be a fun choice!
